Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni battle! The two legends roll their arms over ahead of virtual knockout RCB-CSK tie

Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were seen bowling in the nets ahead of mega RCB vs CSK IPL 2024 match
All eyes will be on Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni when their respective franchises take on against each other. Who between the two can take their team home? Only time will tell

The anticipation for the upcoming IPL 2024 clash between Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 18 is already electric. This high-stakes encounter, practically a knockout match for both teams in the race for the IPL playoffs, has taken an unexpected turn with social media buzzing about a sight that is rarely seen – Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni bowling!

Watch Dhoni and Kohli bowl in the nets

Both legendary batsmen are the undisputed hearts of their respective teams. Kohli, famously nicknamed the “Wrong-footed inswinging menace” for his medium-pace bowling, boasts four IPL wickets to his name. Dhoni, on the other hand, has just one international wicket under his belt and hasn’t bowled a single ball in the IPL. Yet, there they were, letting loose in the nets, much to the delight of fans.

The visuals of these all-time Indian greats testing their bowling skills went viral, a heartwarming reminder of their playful spirit and love for the game.

A do-or-die clash beckons for RCB and CSK

RCB and CSK will be looking to put their best foot forward as their upcoming clash is virtually a knockout game. Both teams are vying for a playoff berth, and the outcome of this match will have a significant impact on their qualification chances.

RCB, after a disastrous start to the season, have staged a remarkable comeback, winning their last five matches. However, they still find themselves in a precarious position, sitting at number six in the points table. To secure a playoff spot, they need to win against CSK with a specific margin (18+ run) or achieve a specific target within a limited number of overs (before 18.1 overs).

On the other hand, CSK are in a slightly better position, but a win against RCB would guarantee their passage to the playoffs. The pressure is immense for both sides, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. A loss for RCB could see their playoff dreams dashed, while a defeat for CSK would leave their qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
