The third round of group stage matches will take place on December 29.

The second round of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) group stage matches has come to an end. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant were among the big names in action. Just like the first round, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was streaming just select matches, and viewers failed to catch live action.

Duck for Rohit Sharma; Angkrish Raghuvanshi injured

Rohit Sharma has followed up his 155-run unbeaten knock against Assam with a golden duck against Uttarakhand. The opener was caught at the fine leg boundary on the final ball of the first over. Owing to fifties by Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, and Hardik Tamore, Mumbai ended up scoring 331. They won easily, by 51 runs, but the game ended on a sour note as Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered a head injury while attempting a catch and had to be taken to the hospital.

Virat Kohli & Rishabh Pant star for Delhi

Unlike Rohit, Virat Kohli continued his golden run. He was Delhi’s highest scorer again, recording 77 runs from just 61 balls. On a tricky batting track, Rishabh Pant also came good. The captain ended up scoring 70 runs himself as Delhi finished with 254 on the board.

Gujarat took Delhi down to the wire. Aarya Desai and Saurav Chauhan fought well, but Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Simarjeet Singh, Prince Yadav, and Arpit Rana got the job done as Delhi won by just 7 runs in the 48th over.

Devdutt  Padikkal & Karun Nair smash chasing tons

Devdutt Padikkal has hit back-to-back hundreds in chases for Karnataka. The southpaw brought up his 11th List A hundred, from just 34 matches, against Kerala from just 96 balls. Padikkal now averages a whopping 83.64 in the format. Karun Nair ended up outscoring Padikkal, registering a run-a-ball 130 as Karnataka won by 8 wickets while chasing 285.

Dhruv Shorey scripts List A history

Vidarbha’s Dhruv Shorey registered his 5 consecutive hundreds against Hyderabad. The 33-year-old had struck centuries in the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final of the 2024-25 VHT season and has followed that up with hundreds in the opening two rounds of the 2025-26 VHT season. Shorey has equalled N. Jagadeesan for most consecutive hundreds in List A history.
