IPL 2026 Purple Cap: Even though Indian Premier League is batters’ tournament, bowlers often decide the winner. At least, they power their teams to the final. To celebrate that success, IPL gives out a purple cap to the highest wicket-taker in the season. The bowler with the most wickets wears the purple cap while fielding during matches and it often changes hands quickly. But at the end of the tournament, the bowler with most wickets receives the official award and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna received the Purple Cap in 2025 for taking 25 wickets in 15 matches.
