T20 World Cup: As is always the case, Team India's playing XI is under discussion again, before SA clash.

The Super 8 stage has arrived in the T20 World Cup, and Team India really need to work on their spin-tackling game. The finger spinners have been excellent against Suryakumar Yadav & Co. and South Africa will have a chance to trouble the hosts too. Abhishek Sharma has been big part of the problem, where he has scored three ducks in as many matches.

Morkel says, Abhishek will deliver

The pattern is the same too, where he tries to get after a bowler, and is out in the very first over. But bowling coach Morne Morkel feels, that the situation is under control; in fact there is no discussion about the batter for now. At the pre-match conference, the coach said, “No discussions about Abhishek Sharma. We’re sure he’s going to deliver. He is in the nets working hard, he will come good.”

There has been a lot of chatter about the fact that Indian batting order has six left-handers, which only increases the problem. But Morkel downplayed the concern. “The left handers are aggressive. Bowlers will have sleepless nights running into them. We will find the flow again,” he was quoted as saying by RevSportz.

Washington Sundar likely to play again

Interestingly, India went with Washington Sundar in the last match vs Netherlands, after he regained full fitness, and could be persisted with, in the match vs South Africa on Sunday. That means, Axar Patel could sit out, while the team will get the option of a right-arm spinner. A debatable decision, but does find the backing of Morkel.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for Washington to play (against SA). He gives us a lot of options,” the coach concluded. Meanwhile, India, after SA, will also play West Indies & Zimbabwe in the Super 8.
