Team India beat Nepal to lift inaugural Blind Women's T20 World Cup

Blind Women's T20 World Cup: The Indian team beat Nepal in the final by seven wickets to lift the trophy.

While everyone was busy watching the IND vs SA 2nd Test, the Indian women’s team has created history. Yes, the Indian team has won the first-ever blind Women’s T20 World Cup, after beating Nepal in the final on Sunday. After the opposition batted first, they could only manage to post 114/5, whereas the Indian team won the match convincingly and scored 117/3 in just 12 overs.

The blind Women’s T20 World Cup was jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India, where the final took place in the Island nations oldest venue, P. Saravanamuttu Stadium. As far as the match is concerned, Phula Saren top-scored for India with 44 from 27 deliveries, to make it rather one-sided contest.

Beat Nepal in Final

As for Nepal; such was IND’s dominance with the ball, that they only conceded one boundary in the entire innings. In the tournament, the hosts had a great outing, and beat Australia in the semis recently, to reach the summit clash. Nepal, on the other hand, got rid of Pakistan in the semis.

Co-hosts Sri Lanka were poor in the tournament, and won only one match against the USA in all their encounters. Pakistan batter Mehreen Ali proved to be the best in the tournament, as she went on to score a massive over 600 runs, including 230 vs SL and 133 vs AUS.
