Lionel Messi is signing off on his G.O.A.T. tour of India in Delhi. After the celebrity football match and clinic with 30 selected kids, Messi was felicitated. Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley, and International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah were present on the podium for the ceremony.
Jay Shah invites Messi to T20 World Cup
Shah presented Messi with a ticket for India’s opening match for the 2026 T20 World Cup against the country of his residency, the USA. Apart from this, Messi was presented with a special Indian T20I jersey with his name and number 10 printed on the back. He also received a signed bat from Shah.
“We carry all this love & affection with us. And we will definitely return, hopefully one day to play a match or on another occasion, but we will definitely return to visit India again. Thank you very much for all the love,” said Messi before signing off.
