Sanju Samson’s ODI career has hit another roadblock. The Kerala star missed out on selection for the India A series against Australia A in October. While selection for the A tours come with a caveat, Samson’s absence is notable given the strength of the group.
Sanju Samson ignored for India A series vs Australia A
The BCCI on Sunday announced the India A squad for the three match one day series against Australia A. Rajat Patidar leads in the first ODI, with Tilak Varma set to captain in the final two matches. Sanju Samson was a notable absentee, with Prabhasimran Singh and Abhishek Porel as wicket-keeping choices.
While omission from an India A squad is not a big news, it could mean danger signs for Sanju Samson. The 30-year-old has been on the periphery of the India ODI set up, narrowly missing out on the 2023 World Cup squad. However, now with Rishabh Pant back in the mix,, the door of opportunity is closing for Sanju.
