Tamil Nadu batter Sai Sudharsan has revived his chances of being a part of India’s squad for the IND vs WI Test series with a sublime fifty in the 1st unofficial Test against Australia A. Having made his debut earlier this year in the Leeds Test, he went on to register scores of 0,30,61,0, 38 and 11 across 6 innings. Sudharsan has made a case for his inclusion in the squad for the IND vs WI Test series at home by repaying the faith of the selectors in the India A game.
Sai Sudharsan to be part of IND vs WI Tests?
Sudharsan scored a half-century after facing 90+ deliveries in India A’s 1st innnigs gainst Australia A on Day 3 of the 1st unofficial Test in Lucknow. He faced 98 deliveries and slammed 9 fours en route to his century. The batter faces a stiff contest in temrs of retaining his position at number 3 after he put up a sub-par performance in the three-match Test series against England.
Sudharsan was left out from South Zone’s squad for the Duleep Trophy as well. India will take on West Indies next in a two-match Test series at home that commences from October 2. The Tamil Nadu batter is expected to be given a long rope and is almost certain to be a part of the playing XI in the series against WI. Meanwhile, he faces competiion in the form of Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal as well, both of them who are a part of India A’s line-up in the 1st unoffcial Test against Australia A. In England, the southpaw scored 140, at an average of 23.
At present, the number three spot in India’s XI in Test is empty. With captain Shubman Gill coming in at number 4, there is enough competition for the spot.
