Rohit and Virat aren’t a part of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 as the duo announced their retirement from T20Is following the World Cup in 2024. Rizwan and Babar Azam have been left out of Pakistan’s squad as they have gone out of the favour of the selectors in the shortest format of the game owing to their poor form.
Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat, who has 2269 runs from 97 T20Is, has found a place in Lee’s all-time squad. Former Indian skipper Dhoni has also made the cut while all-rounder Hardik, currently a part of the Indian squad, has also found a place.
Ex-UAE spinner Amjad Javed, Sri Lankan spinner Hasaranga, Afghanistan captain Rashid, UAE’s Naveed, and Pakistan’s Rauf have also been picked. India’s best bowler across formats – Bumrah – has also been named in the side.
The 8-nation tournament, which commenced from September 9 onwards, is being played in the T20I format this time. So far, three games have been played – with Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh emerging as winners.
