India U19 cricketers were in for a sweet surprise as ODI captain Rohit Sharma had a heartfelt interaction with them at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. The Hitman, who was last seen in action in IPL 2025, has been preparing for the ODI series against Australia where he is expected to finally return to international cricket. On Saturday, the BCCI shared pictures of Rohit’s interaction with the U19 cricketers, including Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Taking to social media platforms, BCCI shared pictures of Sharma speaking to the U19 cricketers. The board informed that the India captain shared valuable life lessons and experiences with the young group comprising of Mhatre, Vaibhav among others. The India U19 stars were last seen in action during their tour to England where the Mhatre-led unit won the ODI series 3-2 and managed to draw both red-ball games that they played. Mhatre was the leading run-getter with two centuries, tallying 340 runs across 4 innings. Suryavanshi meanwhile took ODIs by storm, scoring 355 runs in the 5 match series.
Mhatre’s next assiggnment as U19 captain will be the series against Australia scheduled to begin from September 21 onwards. They will play three one-day games and two multi-day games.
