The BCCI on Thursday made the announcement for an India A tour of Australia, to be played across all formats. The side will be led by India spinner Radha Yadav, while Shafali Verma returns to the fold as well, in the one-day format. The likes of Shreyanka Patil and Titas Sadhu will be back after long injury layoffs as well.
Shafali Verma Back in Reckoning
India A is scheduled to play three T20Is, three ODIs, and a four-day match from August 7 to August 24. The squad also includes leg-spinner Priya Mishra, who will be given a clearance, after obtaining a CoE from the BCCI. Meanwhile, the T20 matches will be played in Mackay from August 7 to 10, followed by one-dayers from August 13-17 in Brisbane, with action moving to Allan Border Field in Queensland.
Shreyanka Patil & Titas Sadhu Back too
Shafali has been out of the ODI squad for almost a year, and last played vs New Zealand in October 2024, where she managed 108 runs in 6 matches. Despite returning to the T20Is now, she wasn’t considered for the ODIs, and hence this could be a chance for her to come good finally.
