This could be a landmark year for PSL, that is scheduled to begin on March 26, and will directly compete with IPL 2026. Nonetheless, before the tournament starts, the PSL auction will take place on Feb 11. And on Wednesday, all teams named their retentions. There were a few misses, but largely the retentions were on expected lines.

PSL 2026 retentions
The likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali were all retained by their respective teams, but the biggest surprises were — Mohammad Rizwan was not retained by Multan Sultans, and Haris Rauf was not retained by Lahore.
