Kathryn Bryce

Kathryn Emma Bryce, born on November 17, 1997, in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a talented all-rounder who has made significant contributions to Scottish cricket. She is known for her skills as a right-handed batter and a right-arm medium-fast bowler, and she currently serves as the captain of the Scottish women’s national cricket team.

Bryce’s cricket journey began at the age of 13 when she debuted for Scotland’s national team in 2011. She also captained the Scotland Under-17 team for nearly four years, showcasing her leadership abilities early on. In 2015, she made a significant mark by scoring an unbeaten 173 runs in a match against Lincolnshire Under-17s, a performance that further highlighted her potential.

Throughout her career, Bryce has represented Scotland in several key international tournaments, including the 2015 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier and the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Her domestic career includes playing for several English teams, such as Warwickshire, Loughborough Lightning, and The Blaze, as well as participating in various competitions with Derbyshire, Manchester Originals, and Gujarat Giants.

In recognition of her remarkable achievements, Bryce was named the ICC Associate Cricketer of the Decade in December 2020. She also made history in 2021, becoming the first Scottish cricketer, male or female, to enter the top ten of the ICC Player Rankings. She earned further accolades, including the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award in May 2021 and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Player of the Year in 2021. In 2024, she was named the Professional Cricketers’ Association Women’s Player of the Year and received the Female Athlete of the Year (Cricket) award at the Scottish Sports Awards.

Bryce is also known for her all-rounder role, frequently opening both the batting and bowling for Scotland. Her exceptional fielding skills further contribute to her value in the team.
