Career
Domestic career
He was the top run-scorer for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the 2017–18 and 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy seasons, amassing 735 and 660 runs respectively. Notably, in the 2016–17 Regional One Day Cup final, he scored an unbeaten 131 runs and claimed 3 wickets, earning him the joint man of the match award. Additionally, he led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to victory in the 2021–22 National T20 Cup, receiving both the player of the final and player of the tournament honors.
International career
He emerged as the leading run-scorer for Pakistan A during their two-day match against England in October 2015 and subsequently made his One Day International debut on November 13, 2015, during the same tour. His Test debut came against England on August 11, 2016. Initially selected for Pakistan’s squad in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament, he was later dropped due to poor form. Nonetheless, he marked his Twenty20 International debut for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in the 2016 Asia Cup on March 4, 2016.
In September 2019, he found inclusion in the 16-man squad for Pakistan’s series against Sri Lanka, being one of three players called back to the team. Recognizing his contributions, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) awarded him a central contract in May 2020, ahead of the 2020–21 season.
