Eshan Malinga

Eshan Malinga, born on February 4, 2001, is an emerging fast bowler from Sri Lanka. He began his first-class cricket journey with Ragama Cricket Club in September 2022 and soon made his mark in List A and T20 formats. Malinga’s strong performances in domestic cricket earned him a spot with the Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League.

In 2025, Eshan made his international debut for Sri Lanka in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), taking a significant step forward in his cricketing career. Later that year, he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2025 IPL auction for ₹1.20 crore, further solidifying his growing reputation as a talented fast bowler. With his pace and aggressive style of bowling, Eshan Malinga is considered one of Sri Lanka’s promising young cricketers.
