The IND vs NZ ODI squad is to be picked next week, and there are a few players who deserve to be picked on the basis of their Vijay Hazare Trophy showing.

Two rounds of the Vijay Hazare Trophy have come to an end, and already a few stunning performances have come our way. So far it has been the batters, who have ruled the roost, with ton of runs being scored. InsideSport tracks some of the players, who have been exceptional so far in the 2025-26 season, and deserve an India call-up for the ODI team.

Devdutt Padikkal (Karnataka)

The first name has to be, without any iota of doubt, of Devdutt Padikkal. The southpaw batter has shown different levels of consistency. In the first match Jharkhand, he made side chase down in excess of 400, which happens to be the only second instance in LIST A cricket. He followed that up with 124 vs Kerala. In the format now, he averages 83 now, where in 35 matches he has scored 2342 runs.

Dhruv Jurel (Uttar Pradesh)

He is relatively new in his LIST A career, but his overall stocks are on the rise as a keeper-batter. In his 12 matches so far, he has gone on to score 336 runs at an average of 56 including 4 fifties. In the last two matches vs Hyderabad and Chandigarh, he scored 80 and 67, respectively. He at least deserves a spot as a reserve keeper in the side.

Ishan Kishan (Jharkhand)

Another good option for the reserve keeper could be Ishan Kishan. He has already played 27 ODIs for India, and even scored a double ton, but never solidified his spot in the team. But he had an excellent SMAT, and now in VHT, he started with a 125 against Karnataka. In LIST A he averages close to 40.

Ramakrishna Ghosh (Maharashtra)

The hunt for next Hardik Pandya seems to never end. But then there is this ex-CSK all-rounder who is doing fairly well for Maharashtra for now. In two matches of VHT till now, he has scored 73 and 18 not out, and also picked up six wickets at an average of 15. Overall in LIST A he averages 37 with the bat and 28 with the ball. As of now, Ramakrishna Ghosh is 28-years-old.
