Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka slammed a stunning double ton for Sri Lanka against Afghanistan in the first ODI match in Pallekele on Friday, February 9.
Nissanka scored 210* off just 139 balls and scripted history as he became the first Sri Lankan player to score a double century in ODIs.
The 25-year-old also broke 24-year-old record of Sanath Jayasuriya for registering all-time highest ODI score of 189 for Sri Lanka.
Nissanka’s blistering knock of 210 included 20 fours and 8 maximums as the hosts posted a mammoth 381/3 in 50 overs, their biggest score against Afghanistan in ODIs.

Nissanka also recorded the joint fifth-highest ODI scores surpassing the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Shubman Gill. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma still holds the record of highest individual ODI score with 264.
