As per a latest report in GeoSuper, Pakistani team will not attend the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup opening ceremony in Guwahati, India, on September 30. All the participating teams are to attend to attend the grand ceremony, followed by a joint press conference and a photoshoot with the trophy.

Further, neither PAK skipper Fatima Sana, nor any representative from the team or the PCB will travel to India for the opening ceremony. The pull out comes after both teams agreed not to go to respective nations for any tournament for the next three years, starting from the Champions Trophy 2025.

That means, Pakistan will play all their matches at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In fact, if the team somehow manages to reach the semis or the finals, both the matches will be held at the same venue too. Meanwhile, the team opens its campaign against Bangladesh on October 2.
Indian women will take on Pakistan on October 5. Muneeba Ali is the named the vice-captain of the team. Experienced Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu are part of the squad.
Pakistan squad: Fatima Sana (c), Muneeba Ali Siddiqui (vc), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Eyman Fatima, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Omaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz (wicket-keeper) and Syeda Aroob Shah.
Non-travelling reserves: Gull Feroza, Najiha Alvi, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhtar.
