Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has claimed that the current team lacks brains amid the Asia Cup. Salman Ali Agha and co. have managed to win two out of the three group stages matches, but have an uphill task in the Super 4 stage. Ahead of the IND vs PAK Super 4 tie, Malik wondered if the Pakistan team put an though behind picking the XI for a clash.
Pakistan’s Asia Cup selection slammed
In a video on Tapmad’s YouTube channel, Malik claimed that while the experts could continue giving ideas, the Pakistan team managemt lacked planning. He claimed that the unit led b Agha failed to be proacive.
“Dekhiye hum toh yaha baith ke bohot saare ideas de rahe hain, combinations bata rahe hain, batting orders bata rahe. Lekin jinhone karna hain, pehle toh ye check karna padega unke paas bhi itna dimag hain itni depth main soch sake. Toh phir toh aap ideas zaroor de aur kuch cheez samajh main aa jaye,” Malik said.
Malik lashed out at Pakistan for folllowing the same strategy as they did in the the Tri-series that preceded the Asia Cup. India will next meet Pakistan on September 21 in the Super 4 tie, potentiall before a Asia Cup final clash.
“Woh jo final Afghanistan ke saath jo team final main khele thhe woh different venue tha. Sharjah ka venue. Par jab aap Asia Cup khelne aaye, aapne same combination hi khela. Kyun? Because woh jeeti hui thhi. Bhai, conditions change hoti hain.. Jaise aap batting main keh rahe ho sabko hona chahiye, then aap bhi toh flexible ho na. Jab venue change ho raha hain, conditions different demand kar rahe hain, different combination demand kar raha hain, aap bhi toh karo na. Proactive raho. Toh woh th woh ho nahi paa rahe,” he added.
