Before the three IND vs PAK matches happened in the UAE, in the Asia Cup, there were many expressing the views against the match, and that the two nations should not have played. Broadcasting Obligations Mean, IND vs PAK Matches Will Happen
But still, there was a huge drama at the Asia Cup, as India refused to shake hands with the Pakistanis, and even refused to take the trophy from ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi. There were objectionable gestures made from the Pakistani players, and the winners trophy was not handed to India.
“It’s easy to talk about all this, but will sponsors and broadcasters agree to it? In today’s situation, if any major team, not just India, withdraws from a tournament, it will be difficult to attract sponsors,” the official told Dainik Jagran. For now, the Asia Cup trophy is still lying in the ACC office in Dubai, and Naqvi had put forth a condition, that Suryakumar Yadav will have to pick it up personally.

It was also reported that at a recent meeting, Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar rebuked Naqvi, who kept away from the topic of the Asia Cup trophy. Amidst all this, IND & PAK went on to play their fourth match in as many weeks, albeit in the Women’s World Cup. But then the result was the same as India won quite comfortably there.
