New Zealand named their squads for the three-match ODI series vs India, followed by a five-match T20I series, starting on Jan 11. Kane Williamson, the seasoned pro was unavailable for selection, while Michael Bracewell was named the skipper of the 50-over format.
NZ name strong squad for IND series
Jayden Lennox has been been called for his maiden series, after a great domestic showing in the year gone by. “Jayden has been an identified player of interest for some time and has some good New Zealand “A” experience under his belt. He’s consistently been one of the top performers in white-ball cricket domestically for a number of seasons,” coach Rob Walter said in a statement released by New Zealand Cricket.
Mitchell Santner to lead in T20Is
Santner, who has recovered from his injury, returns to the side and will lead the T20i unit. Leg-spinner Adi Ashok has been included in the ODI team as well, who has come up substantial LIST A performances. The series will first begin with the ODIs. India have only named their T20 squad, that will be missing names like Shubman Gill and Jitesh Sharma. They are yet to name the ODI squad.
