Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya joins IPL 2025 camp 40 hours after winning Champions Trophy

Hardik Pandya will look to turn things around in IPL 2025, having ended the last season at the 10th spot in the points table.

Hardik Pandya has joined the Mumbai Indians (MI). As the captain of the 5-time champions, it isn’t a shock that he decided to join the preparatory camp for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season just 40 hours after winning the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai.

IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya joins Mumbai Indians

The all-rounder has decided that he doesn’t need any rest and will get into his T20 groove straightaway. He will look to change the course because last year the Mumbai Indians had one of the worst seasons in their IPL history. This reason was the sudden change in the team with Hardik becoming the captain and Rohit Sharma being removed. The camaraderie seems to have improved since then. And now the look would take MI to a record-breaking 6th IPL title.

But Hardik won’t play MI’s open game against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23. He had been fined by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in MI’s last IPL 2024 game for slow over rate. It was the third time that Mumbai Indians were behind the rate and were handed a 1-month ban. That is why he’ll miss the CSK vs MI match.
