New Zealand cricket team pacer Matt Henry is almost likely to miss the Champions Trophy final against India on Sunday. The bowler had injured his right shoulder while fielding in the semi-final contest against South Africa. While the Kiwis played a wait and watch game to determine his availability for the marquee clash, he is unlikely to be a part.
Matt Henry out of Champions Trophy final?
From pictures posted on social media platform X before the Champions Trophy final, Henry looked quite emotional ahead of the game during the team huddle. Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu claimed that it looked like the bowler was not going to be a part of the playing XI, given the emotions he displayed ahead of the final during the team huddle.

On the eve of the ICC Champions Trophy Final, Santner had said that it still isn’t confirmed whether Henry will play or not. He’ll bowl at full intensity, and the only morning they will know how his body will react. Earlier, the New Zealand captain had said that the team would have to wait for a couple of more days before taking a call on Henry.
“We’ll be going across the road and training after this. Matt’s going to have a bowl just to see how he is. I guess we’ll make a call after that,” Santner told reporters in Dubai.
