In what could be a massive blow to Team India, vice-captain of the side, Shubman Gill has faced an injury scare a day before the IND vs PAK clash. As per a report in the Times of India, the batter was hit with a ball on the hand during the training. The report further said that Gill was in pain and walked off the pitch. He later iced his hand too.

Later, skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir were seen having a word with the opener. But then after being attended by the physio, he was back in the nets. Now, the extent of the injury is not known, but perhaps the batter would be fit in time for the all-important match.
India had started their Asia Cup campaign in a rousing fashion, as they ran over the UAE, and beat them by 9 wickets. The side was bundled out for 60-odd runs, with India chasing down the target with utmost ease. But the Pakistan match would be relatively tougher, mostly due to the hype around it.

As per various reports, after a scintillating show by Shivam Dube with the ball against UAE, the team management might just decide to retain him for the Pakistan clash as well, and sit out Arshdeep Singh again. That said, the latter is India’s most successful bowler in the format and has 99 wickets to his name.
