DC vs MI Live Score, IPL 2026: Toss coming up, no Hardik Pandya for Mumbai?

As per Devendra Pandey of Indian Express, Hardik Pandya is not captaining Mumbai Indians today due to a niggle. Suryakumar Yadav, who played as an Impact sub in the last game, is likely to lead. 

The last time Karun Nair faced Jasprit Bumrah, it wasn't the bowler who dominated. Nair scored 26 off 9 deliveries against Bumrah, striking at 288.9, hitting 3 fours and two sixes. Today, they face off again. While Nair might not be in the Playing XI, if he does, it will be an interesting clash to watch out for.

KL Rahul was dismissed for a duck in the first match against LSG. Now, he is back at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where he smashed a century in his last match against GT last season. He could be the key for DC today. He is also 24 runs away from completing 1000 runs against Mumbai Indians.

Mitchell Santner joined the Mumbai Indians squad on April 2 after ending his extended break. He is now available for selection. His inclusion will bolster Mumbai's spin attack and also batting depth. Allah Ghazanfar who played in his absence did not have a great outing. He got hammered for 51 runs without any wickets against KKR. If Santner plays, Ghazanfar will go out. Will Jacks hasn't joined the squad yet.

Rohit Sharma began IPL 2026 with a fluid 38-ball 78-run knock against Kolkata Knight Riders. He also has a great record against Delhi Capitals. Rohit has smashed 1057 runs against DC in 37 matches at an average of 31.06. While he has not scored many runs in the last few encounters, the form he is in, he would be a threat for Delhi.

Arun Jaitley Stadium gets ready for its first game of IPL 2026. And it's sold out today. Even though it's hot with temperature close to 35 degrees, fans have been queing up already.

Delhi Capitals also began their campaign on a winning note against Lucknow Super Giants. While their top-order failed, Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi ensured an easy chase. But they need contributions from KL Raul and Pathum Nissanka. Axar Patel and Nitish Rana also failed to fire. Their bowling, despite an excellent show in Lucknow, could be of concern on a batting-friendly pitch of Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

After 14 years, Mumbai Indians began their campaign with a win. And that will boost their confidence. With Rohit Sharma firing at the top and the potential return of Mitchell Santner strengthening the spin attack, Mumbai will be confident. However, MI will have to be wary of their middle-order. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma could not capitalise on their starts and that could spell doom if the top-order fails. The bowling will be their strength with Jasprit Bumrah leading the attack. 

The pitch is one of the flattest and most batter-friendly in the IPL, featuring black soil that offers true bounce and carry. Short square boundaries (around 60-65m) make it a six-hitter’s paradise, with average first-innings scores often exceeding 170-200 in recent seasons. Early overs may offer slight movement for pacers, especially in a day game, while spinners get some grip in the middle overs. Rain could be a concern and may interrupt play or lead to a reduced-overs game.
