  1. Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Zaki has passed away, as per The Daily Star. He was attending the team's pre-match practice session when he collapsed at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. While he was given CPR on the field and was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead. Zaki was part of the Bangladesh coaching panel that won the U19 World Cup.

Shubman Gill wil return to the field following a foot injury for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. As per a Sportstar report, Gill will play two matches on January 3 and 6 against Sikkim and Goa before joining the India squad for IND vs NZ ODIs.

“He will join the team in Jaipur around January 1 for those two games. While he is interested in playing the final group league fixture against Mumbai as well, it will all depend on the BCCI’s scheduling for the camps ahead of the home series against New Zealand,” a PCA source told Sportstar.
