At the end of the Women’s World Cup 2025, there would be a lot of questions raised, over the scheduling of the tournament and the picking of the hosts. And after IND vs BAN match on Sunday, the last league game of the competition in Navi Mumbai, ended without a result due to rain, it is only fair that tough questions are asked.
Co-hosts India and Sri Lanka witnessed six washed out matches — 5 in Colombo and 1 in Navi Mumbi, which is just mind-boggling. If not for these, perhaps the complexion of the tournament would have been a little different. Maybe team like Pakistan, who finished winless, would have posted an upset victory over England.
