KL Rahul's injury scare, Sai Sudharsan's promising knock headline Day 3 of INDA vs AUSA unofficial Test

KL Rahul was forced to retire hurt at 74 runs in the 2nd unofficial Test between India A and Australia A, sparking concerns for Team India

India A are one step closer to achieving a result in the 2nd unofficial Test against Australia A after finishing at 169/2 on Day 3 in Lucknow. But this wasn’t before the team suffered an injury scare, a worry for Team India ahead of the IND vs WI Test series. After scoring a fine half-century, KL Rahul was forced to walk off the field with a physio, something that Shubman Gill and co. will be very boggled about.

What happened to KL Rahul?

India A managed to bowl out Australia A for 185 runs early on Day 3 of the contest. The target was set, with Dhruv Jurel and co. needing 412 runs to win the game with over a day left. It was then Rahul and Jagadeesan who stole the show. The openers managed to stitch together an opening partnership of 84 runs before the Tamil Nadu opener became the first India A batter to depart after scoring 36 runs.

Rahul went on to score a half-century and battled his way through to 74 runs before he was forced to retire hurt. As per reports, he was seen walking back to the pavilion with physio but the reason still remains unknown. Rahul maintained a strike-rate close to 90, and ensured that IND A got a rousing start in the near-impossible chase.

Meanwhile, Sai Sudhrasan managed to get to 44 before stumps on Day 3 of INDA vs AUSA 2nd unofficial Test. The Tamil Nadu batter, along with Rahul, justified inclusion in the squad for IND vs WI Test series which begins from October 2 onwards. Devdutt Padikkal, who came out to bat at number 4 and has been included in the Test squad in place of Karun Nair, managed to score just 5 runs before he was sent packing. At the end of the day’s play, it was Sudharsan and Manav Suthar who stayed unbeaten. On the final day of India A vs Australia A’s 2nd unofficial Test, the hosts need 243 runs to win the game.
