Shubman Gill has withdrawn from the India A squad, to get some rest after the IPL 2025. The 25-year-old, new India Test skipper also happens to be GT skipper, and the franchise has made it to the playoffs of the tournament, with the final slated for June 5. So, as per a report in Indian Express, it seems that the selection panel and coach Gautam Gambhir have decided to give him some respite.
Shubman Gill Withdrawn from India A Squad
Earlier, he was scheduled to leave for England on June 6, along with teammate Sai Sudharsan, to participate in the second India A match vs England Lions. Not just Shubman Gill, but LSG skipper, and new vice-captain Rishabh Pant will also enjoy a few days off cricket, after a testing IPL 2025, where his side failed to make the playoffs. Having said that, he wasn’t part of the A squad, but the main team.
