As was reported earlier, there could be more teams apart from CSK, in the running to bag RR’s skipper Sanju Samson, in the IPL trade window. Now, as per a report in Anandabazar Patrika, it has emerged that KKR might be interested in a deal for Samson, in exchange of one of their two valued treasures — Angkrish Raghuvanshi or Ramandeep Singh.

The report further suggested that it won’t surely be a two-player deal for one; after the CSK deal is possibly off the cards, KKR might just be able to get their desired pick — Sanju Samson. But only a few hours later, KKR Vibe — the official fan account of the franchise suggested that the team might not be interested is giving up on their young star Raghuvanshi. Though this development cannot be confirmed at the moment.

If prior reports are to be believed, one of them suggested that Samson himself wanted Rajasthan Royals to relieve him. But then, on a podcast with R Ashwin, he went on to say that the team means the world to him, since he joined them way back in 2013, as a teenager.
“RR has meant the world to me. A small child coming from a village in Kerala, wanting to show his talent. And then Rahul (Dravid) sir and Manoj Badale sir gave me a stage to get up and show the world what I am made of,” Samson had said.
As far as the IPL trade deal with CSK is concerned, the Chennai management were not interested in letting any of their players go. There were proposals to bag — Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube or even Ravindra Jadeja, but as has been the policy of CSK, they did not want to part ways with any of the existing team members.
