While the schedule for IPL 2026 is yet to be confirmed, a new report suggests that RR might continue playing in Jaipur

It looks like Rajasthan Royals are all but confirmed to play their IPL 2026 home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR has been exploring options to shift their home base since November 2025, with the team not only expressing concerns over the facilities but also being accused of malpractices by Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). While the schedule for IPL 2026 is yet to be confirmed, a new report suggests that RR might continue playing in Jaipur.

RR asked to continue playing in Jaipur?

As per Cricbuzz, the Rajasthan government does not want RR to look for a venue elsewhere and instead, wants the team to continue playing their home games in Jaipur. The report states that while the BCCI has not taken a final call on the matter, it has communicated to the Royals management that they should explore the possibility of continuing to play in Jaipur. The report states that RR are not satisfied with the facilities at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and want things to be in place at the time of the start of IPL 2026.

The central question, of course, is the Royals’ main grievance – the readiness of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The facilities, including amenities, are understood to be not entirely in order, and the RR management want them in place before the start of the season. The IPL this year will run from March 26 to May 31, which means there are about 45 days left before the beginning of the league,” the report states.

Last year, reports claimed that RR were looking at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Gahunje, Pune as an alternate option to host their home games. They were one of the two sides looking at the venue as an option, apart from RCB. Officials from the franchise did visit the venue to assess it but no official decision has been taken yet. It is pertinent to point out that RR also play a portion of their matches in Assam’s Guwahati, which sort of serves as their second home ground after Jaipur.
