Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are once again riding on the heroics of their openers in their game against the Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram have formed a formidable opening partnership in IPL 2025, with yet another strong start for LSG. In the LSG vs DC clash in Lucknow, the duo put on 87 for the first wicket in 10 overs.
Markram, Marsh build solid base for LSG again
Lucknow’s push for a place in the playoffs has been built on their opening partnership with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh, once again building a solid foundation. On a sluggish wicket in Lucknow, Marsh-Markram took their time initially before smashing yet another fifty partnership. Markram was the aggressor, while Marsh took his time playing the anchor role perfectly. The Proteas ace got to his fourth fifty in 6 games, continuing his good form.
The duo put on 51 in the powerplay, without losing a wicket. The right-hand partnership played out Axar Patel well, but took the attack to the rest of the bowling, welcoming Viprajk Nigam with a six. Markram eventually managed to reach his half-century in 30 balls. He was dismissed for 52 off 33 balls, aided by two boundaries and three maximums.

The duo are also individually in the race for the Orange Cap. Mitchell Marsh is 4th in the Orange Cap race with 344 runs in 7 games, striking at 160.74 with an average of 43.00. As for Makram, he has 326 runs to his name in 8 games, striking at 150.92.
