Inspired by Rishabh Pant, Deepti Sharma hits one-handed six in INDW vs ENGW ODI

INDW vs ENGW: Deepti Sharma has emerged as one of the top all-rounders in the world, who can win matches with the ball and bat.

The Indian women’s cricket team might be sans some of their top players in the ongoing series vs England, but the way they are turning up in every game, they are hardly missing the absentees. On Wednesday, Harmanpreet Kaur‘s team came up with a brilliant chase of 259, despite losing a few wickets along the way.

Is it Rishabh Pant or Deepti Sharma?

But then, one has to say, that wasn’t the highlight of the entire match. But it was when, India all-rounder Deepti Sharma hit a Rishabh Pant-inspired, one-handed six off Lauren Bell in the 38th over of the chase. That ball not only went for a six, but cleared the boundary ropes by quite some distance.

After the match, even Deepti Sharma couldn’t help but talk about it. She too admitted, that she picked it up from Rishabh Pant, and practiced it in the nets. “I play these shots in practice – I picked that up from Rishabh Pant.”

INDW Complete Tricky Chase vs ENGW

As far as the match is concerned, the Indian bowlers were on top for the first 25 overs, but then missed the likes of Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Thakur’s in their pace attack. Sophia Dunkley came up with 83, while Davidson Richards smashed a fifty too. In reply, India started out well too.

Smriti Mandhana looked at her very best, but was dislodged by Bell, while batting on 28. Partika Rawal contributed with 36, and Harleen Deol came up with 27 as well. But it was late bursts from Deepti (62) and Jemimah Rodrigues (48), that took India home in a tricky chase.
