As it is, Team India had a few concerns regarding the health of the certain players, and now there could be a new injury concern. According to tweet by Times of India’s Sahil Malhotra, Ishan Kishan has injured his left-toe, while practicing in Delhi for the upcoming IND vs NAM match on Wednesday.
Injury to Ishan Kishan
He was hit by a Jasprit Bumrah yorker that left the southpaw in excruciating pain. So, far there is no clarity if Kishan would eventually end up playing the match or not, but it is a setback for sure. Moreover, there are clouds over participation of Abhishek Sharma as well, who returned from the hospital after a bout of illness.
Trouble for Team India?
Not to forget, Bumrah himself is returning from an illness. Washington Sundar is looking to regain full fitness for the tournament, after suffering a side strain exactly a month back. So, all this could really disrupt the team combination.
Ishan Kishan has been in sublime form too, ever since he has comeback into the Indian team, and is scoring big runs at a rapid pace. He scored 76 and 103 vs New Zealand in the last series and then went on to score a fifty in the practice match for the T20 World Cup, against South Africa.
As far as his overall performance is concerned, he has played 37 matches and has scored 1031 runs overall at an average of 28. His strike-rate has been at 137.
