India will outclass Pakistan. This opinion seems unanimous. Former cricketers and experts from both nations are unified for once about something. This isn’t about the Shaheens being weak, but more so about how strong the current Indian team is.
The thrashing that India gave the UAE just showed the difference between the two teams. Pakistan faced them in their recent tri-series. They won both times, but by just a 31-run margin. In comparison, India finished the match in just 17.4 overs.
Even before the performance, Ravichandran Ashwin was prompted to say that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) should bring in India A or South Africa and make the tournament the Afro-Asia Cup so that the main India team has some competition. But another former Indian cricketer has one-upped what Ashwin had said.
India B vs Pakistan: a fair fight?
Atul Wassan, ex-India pacer, thinks that even India’s B team can beat the current Pakistan team. Although of late, under Salman Ali Agha and Mike Hession, the Men in Green have done well, but he thinks they are no match for Suryakumar Yadav’s team.
He stated that until the 90s, Pakistan was better than India by a huge distance. Wassan thinks that he has reserved now. Usually, one would feel that senior pros like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom retired last year, would be needed, but this Indian team doesn’t need them, especially against the current Pakistan team.
“India’s B team will also beat this Pakistan team because things have changed. When we played in the 90s, they were a very good side. Now the boot is on the other foot. I will not miss Rohit (Sharma) and Virat (Kohli) because then I will start missing Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev also.” Wassan told CNN-News18.
