India vs Pakistan at ODI World Cup becomes most-watched women's game of all time

The India vs Pakistan rivalry has once again proven to be cricket’s biggest spectacle, this time on the women’s stage. Their ODI World Cup 2025 clash in Colombo on October 5 has officially become the most-watched women’s cricket match of all time. According to the ICC, the blockbuster fixture recorded a reach of 28.4 million viewers and 1.87 billion minutes consumed across platforms, figures never seen before in women’s cricket. The numbers comfortably surpass all previous records, showing how the India–Pakistan rivalry continues to captivate audiences globally, irrespective of the format.

The game’s unprecedented popularity was not just limited to digital platforms. It also became the highest-rated league-stage match in Women’s World Cup history on television, with packed stands and millions tuning in from both nations. The first half of the ongoing Women’s World Cup itself has seen staggering growth in audience interest.

Historic ICC Women’s ODI World Cup

Beyond the India–Pakistan showdown, the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has already set new benchmarks for the women’s game. The first 11 matches of the tournament collectively reached 72 million viewers which is a 166% increase from the previous edition. Meanwhile, total viewing minutes surged by 327% to 6.3 billion. According to ICC and JioHotstar data, the first 13 matches have now touched 60 million viewers and over 7 billion minutes of watch time, marking a five-fold and twelve-fold rise, respectively, from 2022. India vs Australia match on October 12 drew a record 4.8 million peak concurrent viewers on JioHotstar.
