India vs New Zealand Champions Trophy final ticket prices go through the roof, touch INR 283,000

Champions Trophy: India and New Zealand have faced other only twice in the tournament, and have won one each.

It is a given that, whenever and wherever the Indian cricket team plays, there will be a massive interest generated among the fans. Now that Rohit Sharma’s men are on the cusp of yet another ICC title — having made it to the ICC Champions Trophy final — the match is already sold out for Sunday’s game vs New Zealand.

The final is scheduled to happen at the Dubai International Stadium, with all 25,000 tickets already sold out. Even though the ticket prices started from approx. INR 6000, to a maximum of INR 283,000, there was no shortage on the eagerness to the Indian team play in the final. As per a report in Geo.tv, the ticket sales have generated an estimated total of INR 212903910. Here is the breakdown of all the ticket prices-

General Admission (15,000 seats): INR 6000 – 11,828

Premium and Pavilion Sections (5,000 seats): 11,828 – 28,387

Hospitality (1,700 seats): 47,311 – 283,871

IND vs NZ Rivalary

Meanwhile, it is expected that the gates for the fans with open at 10.00 Am local time Dubai, while the match is to start at 1.00 Pm there. Also, this will be both teams’ second meeting in the tournament, at the same venue, as IND vs NZ faced off in the last league match too.

As far as history between these two teams go, both India and New Zealand had played in the Champions Trophy final back in 2000, where the latter had emerged winners. Known as the ICC KnockOut back then, India was beaten by the Kiwis in a rather close final by four wickets.

Chasing 265, Chris Cairns went on to get an unbeaten ton, that took his team to a maiden ICC title. Sourav Ganguly too had slammed a ton for India — 117, but his efforts went in vain.
