The India Under-19 team etched history as they defeated England in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 to lift their record sixth title. The young Indian team showcased a dominant performance in the summit clash against England with several players making waves. As the next assignment for some young U19 boys is the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026), they are already in the news for bridging the gap between age-group success and top-tier franchise cricket.
Vaibav Suryavanshi, who starred with a sensational 175-run knock in the U19 World Cup final, has been a standout example. He has already made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. In his very first IPL season, he etched history as he became the youngest to score a century. Apart from him, Ayush Mhatre also has some IPL experience after he featured in IPL 18 in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) colours. Vaibhav Suryavanshi
The young prodigy has already made his IPL debut in 2025. He is set to once again feature in the IPL 2026 after he was retained by the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Suryavanshi was retained at the price of INR 1.1 Crore after he was picked in the auction for this sum in a bidding war between Delhi Capitals (DC).
Ayush Mhatre
The next name in the list is of India U19 CWC winning captain Ayush Mhatre. The 17-year-old, who became the youngest player in CSK history to feature for the franchise, will continue to ply his trade with the five-time champions. He was retained ahead of the mini-auction. He will continue with CSK for INR 30 Lakh after getting retained.
Vihaan Malhotra
Apart from the two players, who already made their debut last season, is a young Indian wicketkeeper-batter from Delhi, Vihaan Malhotra. Known for clean strokes, calm temperament, Vihaan has been excellent in domestic cricket, especially in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The 20-year-old was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2026 auction for a sum of INR 30 Lakh under the uncapped category. He is all set to make his debut in the upcoming edition.
Kanishk Chouhan
The last player from India’s U19 World Cup 2026 winning squad, who got picked in the IPL 2026 mini-auction, is Kanishk Chouhan. The all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh is known for his spin bowling. He can also play useful knocks lower down the order. The 20-year-old was picked by the IPL 2025 title winners. He will be joining his U19 teammate Vihaan at RCB after getting roped in for INR 30 Lakh.
