Team India manager joins before Champions Trophy final
Before the India vs New Zealand group stage clash on March 4, R Devraj left for Hyderabad from Dubai when he got the news about the demise of his mother. Currently serving as the Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary, the board provided an update as to why Devraj will return to India. “With deep sorrow, we inform you that our Secretary Devraj’s mother, Kamaleshwari garu, has passed away. May her soul rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to Devraj garu and his family,” the HCA said in a statement.
Now, as per Cricbuzz reporter, Devraj joined the team even before the semifinal clash with Australia. India comfortably beat the Aussie in their penultimate clash of the tournament, with Virat Kohli scoring another masterful 84. While Devraj’s involvement won’t directly impact the team’s performance on the field, it might be a morale booster as he is an important support staff member.
