IND vs WI: Ravindra Jadeja slammed yet another 100 in Tests, which happened to be his sixth overall in the longest format.

There was never really a question mark over Ravindra Jadeja‘s batting credentials in Test matches. It was just the case of him stringing a few big scores together. A purple patch with the bat that started in the previous series in England, has continued for the southpaw against the West Indies as well. The 36-year-old all-rounder slammed his 6th 100 in Tests on Friday in Ahmedabad, ensuring a solid position for Team India.

Ravindra Jadeja shows unparalleled consistency

The ton also means this is his seventh fifty-plus score in nine innings, which includes another century against England at Manchester. As a result of this century now, now he averages over 75 in Tests in 2025. What is even more remarkable is, ever since the WTC started in 2019, he has scored 2451 runs in 45 matches at an average of 43, with five tons and 18 fifties.

This record in the WTC cycles is significantly better than that of Virat Kohli. The latter before retirement, scored 2617 runs in 46 matches, at an average of 35. He had five 100s and 11 fifties to his name. Rishabh Pant is the leader in the list with 2731 runs in 28 matches at an average of 43 as well.

Surpasses MS Dhoni too

That is not it. In another remarkable achievement, during his innings, he surpassed MS Dhoni in the list of most sixes in Tests. Ravindra Jadeja now has 79 in 86 matches, while MS Dhoni had 78 in 90 encounters. The Indian record is held by Virender Sehwag, who hit 91 maximums in his career.

Meanwhile, at tea, India led the West Indies by a massive 164 runs. Earlier, the opposition was bundled out for a paltry 162 only, with Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah taking seven wickets together.
