Hardik Pandya isn’t satisfied yet. Winning two ICC trophies in the space of 9 months won’t quench the all-rounder’s thirst for glory. After playing a vital role in the India cricket team’s title run in the Champions Trophy, Hardik has made it clear that he plans to be on the podium of every ICC event for the next few years.
Hardik Pandya eyes ICC glory
“For me, it has always been about winning as many championships as I can. I did say when we won in 2024 that this is not done; I still need 5-6 more trophies there. I am very happy that one more is added. The most important thing in my life and my cricketing journey has always been about how I can make sure that my team can win,” Hardik told the ICC.
Next goal, 2026 T20 World Cup
Hardik openly announced his next goal. He wants a hat trick of ICC trophies and wants to win the 2026 T20 World Cup in India. But as he mentioned above, he wishes to win 5-6 ICC trophies, and he might have the opportunity as well.
“I love wins like this where everyone comes there, puts their heart out, and you know, I think this was for India; this was for Bharat. The Champions Trophy is done; the next goal is the ICC T20 World Cup in India, lifting the cup,” Hardik added.
In the next 6 years, there are six white-ball events: the 2026 T20 World Cup, the 2027 ODI World Cup, the 2028 T20 World Cup, the 2029 Champions Trophy, the 2030 T20 World Cup, and the 2031 ODI World Cup.
If Team India somehow manages to win this back-to-back, they’ll become the most dominant white-ball team of all time, and that’s exactly what Hardik Pandya wants.
