Rahul's fine form continues and it comes as good news for DC given that he will be seen in action only in IPL 2026 after Ranji Trophy.

India cricket team batter KL Rahul scored his 24th first-class hundred in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 quarterfinal against Mumbai on Monday. The Karnataka batter, who last featured for Team India in the IND vs NZ ODI series, returned to domestic cricket as he found no place in the T20I squad. Rahul’s fine form in the red-ball format continues and it comes as good news for Delhi Capitals, given that he will be seen in action only in IPL 2026 after the Ranji Trophy.

Rahul scores 24th first-class hundred in Ranji Trophy QF

Rahul took 147 deliveries to breach the triple-figure mark in Karnataka’s second innings in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Mumbai. He has scored 14 fours so far, as Karnataka chase 325 runs to beat the opposition and secure a spot in the semis. Rahul has had a mixed run since his return to domestic cricket, registering scores of 59, 13, 28 and now a hundred to his name. Regardless, this comes as good news for DC ahead of IPL 2026 as the batter has kept himself in good rhythm leading up to the tournament.

With his hundred in the game against Mumbai, he has also gone past 8700 runs in first-class cricket. His vast experience in red-ball cricket has come of good use to Karnataka in the contest, as he has delivered on his expectations after a string of low scores in the last couple of innings. Should Karnataka beat Mumbai, they will qualify for the semi-final, which means Rahul will be left with at least one more game (two if they qualify for the final) where he can ensure that he stays in good touch before the start of IPL 2026 in late March.
