Dubai Police have laid out an extensive security plan for the India vs UAE match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The 2025 T20 Asia Cup kicked off yesterday in Abu Dhabi as Afghanistan and Hong Kong crossed paths. Dubai will host the first of the tournament’s eleven matches today (September 10).
Security plan for the India vs UAE match
Due to Team India’s presence, thousands of cricket fans are expected to travel to Dubai for the clash. The police in Dubai Sports City have laid out a plan to ensure there are no issues due to the excessive footfall expected. Of course, this won’t just be the case for this match but also the upcoming India vs Pakistan match and any other game involving either of the two nations.
Expats from both nations live in huge numbers in the UAE and are expected to flock in huge numbers. In the past, tensions have also flared between the two communities. Keeping this in mind, a proper security plan has been put in place.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, announced the steps Dubai Police will be taking in the press conference held on Tuesday, the eve of the India vs UAE match.
The police will be patrolling in and around the stadium to ensure the smooth running of things. Heavy traffic is expected since the game will begin at 6:30 PM local time (8 PM IST). A public advisory has been issued, urging them to use public transport and walk to the stadium from the nearest bus or metro stop.
