Former India batter WV Raman believes that Washington Sundar can be India’s Test number three for the upcoming West Indies Test series. In an exclusive chat with InsideSport, Raman highlighted how Sundar has the ability to be a top-order batter. He added that if Sundar plays at 3, India can play three other spinners.

Bumrah-Suthar

Jasprit Bumrah has made himself available for the India vs West Indies Test series. India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has also confirmed that Bumrah won’t be rested in any Asia Cup matches. Now, it’s up to the selection panel. Manav Suthar could earn his maiden Test call-up, and N Jagadeesan is expected to be the backup wicketkeeper.

Shreyas

Shreyas Iyer will be taking a break from red-ball cricket. The batter from Mumbai has informed BCCI about his decision, citing stiffness and fatigue issues in his back as the reason. This means that Shreyas won’t be in contention for the India vs West Indies Test series.

Ryan ten Doeschate has confirmed that Sanju Samson will continue to be India’s wicketkeeper batter and will play in the middle order at the Asia Cup and beyond. The India assistant coach stated that the management believes Samson is the best man to bat at number five.

Ashwin sets sail to ILT20 & BBL

Ravichandran Ashwin has set his base price at $120,000 (INR 1.06 crore) for the 2025 ILT20 auction. But that won’t be all, as the recently retired IPL player will also look to feature in the BBL 2025-26 season. It’s believed that Ashwin will play in both tournaments in the coming months despite them clashing.

Ganguly elected CAB President

Sourav Ganguly has returned as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). The former India captain held the position from 2015 to 2019, before leaving to become the BCCI President until 2022. Ganguly has returned after being elected unopposed and vows to bring more talent from Bengal to Team India.
