BCCI snubs Bangladesh

The Marco Jansen factor
The IND vs SA 2nd Test begins in a day from now in Guwahati, and while all eyes will be on how the Indian batters counter Simon Harmer, one must not forget the struggles against Jansen. Yashasvi Jaiswal, especially has been found wanting against left-arm pacers. The southpaw batter trained hard with throw-down specialists, to try and counter that threat.

Sai Sudharsan at no.3 & Jurel at no. 4
As things stand, Shubman Gill is most likely out of the 2nd Test. So, looking at the team composition, the management might just field Sai Sudharsan at no. 3, followed by Dhruv Jurel. That gives a chance to accommodate all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy as well.

‘The defeat will open eyes’
In a scathing attack, Sunil Gavaskar questioned the choices made by selectors, in leaving out the domestic performers. He also said, that hopefully, the SA defeat will open the eyes of the stakeholders. “The defeat to South Africa will hopefully open the eyes of those who matter to look at the heavy scorers in domestic cricket, who are used to playing on pitches where the ball spins and keeps low. The international players are so busy playing overseas that they do not have practice playing on domestic pitches, and so are found wanting.”
