BCCI not in sync

BCCI imposed a ban on Rahman and directed Kolkata Knight Riders to release the pacer from their squad on January 3. However, not all BCCI officials, including IPL governing council members, were in the know-how of the ouster. Instead, some of the officials only got to know of the situation from media reports. Virat Kohli slammed

r Sanjay Manjrekar has questioned Virat Kohli’s decision to leave the longest format of the game. In fact, he went on term ODIs as the ‘easiest format’ which he is still playing. Manjrekar went on to further say, that he would have had no issues if the legend had went on to quit all the three formats. Gill > Sharma?

Yuvraj Singh has pointed out the difference between Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, and has claimed that the former is one step ahead of the latter. The southpaw has mentored the young duo from Punjab, refining their batting technique and personally overseeing their hard work in the nets. Singh recalled that he had started working with Gill and Sharma just before the COVID period and revealed why the former was better than the youngster. Read more here.

England to sack coach?

Brendon McCullum is at the risk of losing his job following the team’s miserable performance in the ongoing Ashes. Ben Stokes and co. have been embroiled in controversies, both on and off the field, during the course of their tour to Australia. A report has now claimed that McCullum has been served an ultimatum by the England and Wales Cricket Board and he will be sacked if he fails to respond appropriately. Read more here.

Will Bangladesh play in India?

ICC has managed to get Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to reconsider their plea to relocate their T20 World Cup 2026 games from India to Sri Lanka. This comes after the BCB wrote to the global body seeking relocation of matches citing security concerns for their players amid soaring tensions between India. As per reports, the ICC has attempted to mediate between the BCCI and the BCB in an attempt to diffuse the tension between the two boards. Read more here.
