Delhi Capitals all-rounder Vipraj Nigam has lodged a complaint against a woman for threatening and harassing him. The UP star, who had his break out season in IPL 2025, reportedly received threat messages from multiple international numbers over the last two months. As per reports, the FIR has been lodged at Kotwali Nagar police station in Barabanki district.
Vipraj lodges plaint against woman
As per Times of India, Vipraj claimed that he had been receiving threat messages from various international numbers since September 2025. He alleged that after blocking the person initially, the same person started using foreign numbers to harass him. Nigam claimed that the woman has warned that she would lodge false criminal cases against the cricketer if he does not oblige to her demands.
“Initially, the calls were made from a mobile number, but after I blocked it, the same person began using several foreign numbers to harass me,” the cricketer was quoted as saying in the report.
Vipraj also accused the woman of circulated objectionable and fabricated content, including fake videos, involving the cricketer to taint his reputation. Nigam further claimed that the woman also threatened his family members and acquaintances.
Arpit Vijayvargiya, the Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, told publication that an FIR under the charges of BNS 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) and 352 (insult and provoke breach of peace) against the accused Richa Purohit has been registered. A probe in the matter is currently underway.
The all-rounder was indeed the best find for DC in IPL 2025, as he proved to be a most-valuable player. In 14 games, Nigam took 11 wickets and scored 142 runs, emerging as the second fiddle to captain Axar Patel.
