Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has warned the India cricket team against being complacent in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday. The Men in Blue, who have beaten Pakistan twice in the span of one month, will lock horns with the arch-rivals for the third time in the title clash. Ahead of the IND vs PAK tie, Sharma flagged certain threats which could potentially hamper India’s chances of adding another trophy to their cabinet.
What should India be worried about in IND vs PAK final?
Speaking to news agency PTI, Rajkumar pointed out that Pakistan would be coming hard at India, especially since it was the Asia Cup final and that they had lost to them twice. He warned Suryakumar Yadav and co. that even though they were a strong side, there was no room for any complacency and that not to take Pakistan lightly.
“It is going to be 3-0, but it won’t be that easy. It’s the final, PAK has lost two times. They will also come hard at us and India can’t be complacent. We can’t take them lightly now,” Sharma said.
Additionally, Kohli’s childhood coach noted that majority of the runs were scored by the top-order and that the middle-order perhaps had lack of game time in the tournament. Abhishek is the leading run-getter in the ongoing Asia Cup, with 309 runs to his name from 6 matches, averaging over 50. Sharma said that the Indian middle-order not firing as much as the top two is a point of worry for the Men in Blue.
“Abhishek is putting a lot of pressure on the opposition and reliving our (India’s) middle-order of some pressure. Only point of worry is that our middle-order batters haven’t gotten a lot of opportunities and haven’t fired as much,” Rajkumar added.
