The clock is ticking. Just a week and little more is left for WPL 2026 mega auction in Delhi, and it is going to be a massive event for Indian Women’s cricket. A few days back, the WPL 2026 retentions were announced, and now it will be interesting to see what teams end up buying.
For now, Insidesport takes a look at the bowlers that GG should opt for, at the WPL 2026 auction.
Bowlers GG need to bid for at WPL 2026 auction
Firstly, let’s make it clear that Gujarat Giants went on to retain only two players — Beth Mooney (2.5 cr) & Ash Gardener (3.5 cr), and have a purse of 9 cr left with them. It is amply clear that the squad will be built around them. In the process, they even let go players like Phoebe Litchfield and Laura Wolvaardt.
Shabnim Ismail: The former SA pacer was released by MI. She is express pace, can bowl close to 125 kmph, and it is the sort of speed that the players would find difficult to tackle.
Titas Sadhu: Released by DC, she could be groomed into an excellent bowler. At one point, many thought, she could be a replacement for Jhulan Goswami. Maybe, but for now she needs to deliver in the WPL. She is a decent bowler, all said and done.
Sneh Rana: She is an experienced spinner. In the WPL she has picked up 12 wickets, and more importantly, her economy has been under 9. So, she could form a partnership with Gardener.
