The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has revealed the date for the 2025 T20 Asia Cup captains’ meet. The 8-team tournament will commence on September 9. On the same day, skippers of all teams will assemble at the Dubai International Stadium.
2025 Asia Cup captains meet
Continuing the tradition, there will be a ceremonial photoshoot with all the captains and the Asia Cup trophy. Following this, at 11:30 AM local time (1 PM IST), a captain’s press conference will take place. Even though Afghanistan and Hong Kong will face off later that day at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, all eight captains will be present in Dubai, ensuring a unified start to the tournament.
For the first time, we’ll see a T20 match between India and Pakistan since the 2024 T20 World Cup. The two captains, Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha, will certainly be asked about it. Given what’s transpired between the two nations in the last few months, the India vs Pakistan match is expected to be intense this year, with both teams going hard at each other.
Both will most likely play it down, but the significance of the clash will be the major talking point of the Asia Cup. Of course, India and Pakistan will most likely meet in the Super Four stage and maybe in the Final as well.
